Room and mics for speech

Podcast sessions usually use our quiet seating area or table setup with directional mics — less room echo than a living room, more natural than a phone memo. Voice-over can move into the 7 m² booth when you want maximum dryness for animation or sync.

We tame laptop noise by cabling and gain before rolling; you focus on content. Headphones are optional when hosts want to hear each other without speakers feeding the mics.

Two to four speakers

Host-and-guest interviews are most common; some shows record three or four panelists at a shared table with individual mics. We balance levels so no one dominates by sitting too close to the capsule.

Remote guests over the internet are possible by arrangement, but quality depends on their connection — for primary content we recommend being in Amsterdam. FAQ covers more session practicalities.

Voice-over and corporate scripts

Reads for explainers, IVR prompts or e-learning need steady tone and low room noise. You read from screen or paper; we mark bad takes and redo sections without resetting the whole project.

Content revisions (rewriting, retranslation) sit outside studio time — we book extra hours at €88 when you change scripts. Commercial rights on copy stay between you and your client; see disclaimer on liability.

Editing: what we do and skip

Standard delivery is raw or lightly normalised WAV stems; heavy editing (ums, silence removal, music beds) is a separate production step you handle or outsource. On request we can render a simple stereo preview — not a substitute for podcast hosting platforms.

Mixing with 2 revision rounds targets music; spoken series use different tools. Tell us in intake what your host (Spotify, YouTube, intranet) expects for format.

Host checklist

• Outline or script with timing per segment.
• Each speaker’s name and role; who leads questions.
• Still water; phones silent or stored away.
• Reference for desired tone (casual, news, documentary).
• Intro music as files — not played through room speakers.

Send sample material via contact so we know whether €210 or hourly booking fits. Minimum participant age 16 unless a youth show runs with adults present.

Rates: hourly vs episode

The episode rate covers recording and basic export within that duration; longer days or back-to-back episodes bill in hours or separate blocks. 30% deposit; free cancellation up to 7 days ahead. B2B clients may use 14-day payment terms — terms and conditions.

Delivery and turnaround

After wrap you typically receive same-day download links: 24-bit WAV per track, optional stereo bounce. File names include date and role (Host, Guest1). We store sessions 12 months, then delete copies — keep your master locally.

Scheduling and access

We work by appointment within Tuesday–Friday 10:00–20:00, Saturday 10:00–18:00. Closed Monday and Sunday. By appointment only.. Morning slots for business hosts fill quickly — book via contact or 020 261 4890. Oaklandledger does not share the room with another client simultaneously; your conversation stays private.

Do not combine podcast booking with loud band rehearsal in one slot; Band recording and podcast use different rooms and workflows. For musical jingles afterward, book Vocal recording separately.
